Is it by waking up before the sun does?
Is it by having your daily, weekly and monthly planner all filled out and ready to go, and having three to-do-list apps on your phone, just to have all the bases covered?
Is it by putting in an hour or two of exercise, meditation and/or yoga every morning before breakfast?
Breakfast! Maybe it’s by having a full spread for breakfast like they do in the movies!
Sounds good. Now I’m hungry.
My point is, there are many ways that people start their day. Many rituals and routines which set the tone for the kind of day you’d like to have and personally, I’m intrigued by (and I’m an avid trier) of many of the above methods.
But someone recently suggested to me that to start the day right, one has to look outside the window (yes, open those curtains up!), smile and say today is going to be a good day.
Actually, it’s meant to be said a little louder than that: TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY!
I haven’t tried it yet, but it was such an intriguing idea I thought I’d share it first.
I suppose this is the principle of intention setting, mantra recitation, positive affirmation, visualization…whatever it is, it sounds pretty good to me and so why don’t we do a little experiment by starting the next few mornings with this phrase affirming to ourselves that indeed TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY! and see what comes of it. No harm in trying right?
